“Don’t worry, please please how many times do I have to say it. There’s no way not to be who you are and where.”
Ikkyu – Crow with No Mouth
Early September during the COVID-19 pandemic brings ample worries.
These worries are ladled on top of the other preoccupations and concerns, which upon more direct examination (well…as much direct examination as I can muster) are seen to circle endlessly around the self.
Am I good enough? Where am I going? When will things be just as I want them to be? How do I want things to be? Am I good enough?
As I continue to circle, much like walking a labyrinth, I fold into myself and then start to hear a very faint cry. Slowly, I tune my ear and slow my walk, as I do…this is what I hear…
Don’t worry, please please, how many times do I have to say it, there’s no way not to be who you are and where.
and then I relax.
